The ASI Timeline

2005

The company was originally incorporated as ASI (Great Britain) Limited in February 1996, then acquired by ASI Solutions plc in 2003. In 2005, ASI divested its contracting division to focus on Rhinopatch and RHINOPHALT® material sales.

2006

In 2006, ASI achieved BBA HAPAS approval for RHiNOPHALT® as an asphalt preservative on high speed roads, and shortly afterwards UK Highways (M40) Ltd chose RHiNOPHALT® as part of their maintenance strategy to preserve the M40 motorway for the remaining 20 years of the DBFO contract.

2015

ASI has continually invested in R&D, product testing, and industry education, as well as gaining local approvals. Our products are CE marked and comply with EU chemical regulations (REACH). In 2015, ASI achieved ISO9001 (2008) certification for its quality system.

2020

Despite the slow start to the year, 2020 has seen ASI approved contractors complete re-treatment on the M40 together with some new local authority and regional airport projects. This summer saw the successful re-treatment of one of the UK Ministry of Defence’s most prestigious sites. During this contract the vast majority of the asphalt within the base was preserved with Rhinophalt® , totalling over 500,000m². This project was completed in just under 3 weeks with the team being able to replicate previous outputs of 50-60,000m² in single shift where access allowed. It has also been ASI’s second best year ever working in Germany, where the product has now been widely adopted by road authorities.

2021

In 2021 our German partner Kutter secured a contract to treat one million m² on the M6 Tolna project in Hungary. The M25 was also treated for the first time with Rhinophalt applied by Henry Williams & Son Ltd and ASI entered into an exclusive manufacturing agreement with Jobling Purser Ltd for the UK market.
